How to freeze food at home

Are you one of those who wonder how long you can hold a frozen food? The freezing time of food depends on the food itself, whether it is a home or industrial product, ingredients bearing, etc. Well, to answer questions, we leave a list of recommendations on how to freeze and defrost food:
- Frozen Yogurt. You can freeze up to 2 months, although the freezing process causes changes in texture.
- Freeze butter. It is possible freezing of 6 to 9 months. To do this, leave your original paper and then wrap with foil or freezer bag.
- Freeze fresh bread. We can keep fresh bread in the freezer up to 3 months (besides never not be stored in the refrigerator, because it makes you bust before). Always Thaw at room temperature.
- Freeze homemade cookies. Freezing is recommended (both cookies itself as the mass of homemade cookies in an airtight container, and never more than 6 months.

- Freeze fruit. Fruits that are most amenable to be frozen are: apricots, grapes, peaches, canned pears and plums. Bananas can be frozen whole, or you can mash the pulp, freeze it in a freezer bag, and then use it in desserts or cakes. Berries and cherries can be frozen whole and raw: first put on a tray to freeze them individually, and once frozen, they move to a bag or a sealed plastic box.
- Freeze juices. BRICS juice can be frozen for 12 months.
- Freeze ham. Ham can be frozen up to 2 months, although it is possible to alter both the flavor and texture.
- Freeze bacon or pancetta. It is possible to freeze for one month. Leave in original packaging and wrap with another.
- Freeze meat. We freeze ground meat (beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, pork, etc..) To 4 months. To do: wrap in a freezer bag and then a layer of foil.
- Freeze Soups, broths and creams. You can freeze all kinds of soups for 6 months without losing flavor or properties. It is better to freeze them in portions.
- Freeze whitefish. You can freeze up to 6 months whitefish: is removed from storage, washed and wrapped in a freezer bag.
- Freeze bluefish. You can also freeze fish like tuna, salmon and mackerel to 3 months, at which time and begin to lose flavor properties.
- Freeze dried fruits. You can freeze the nuts for 2 years. And if you want to conserve not frozen, it is best to keep them in the refrigerator, where they also have a long life (one year) and will not stale.
- Freeze vegetables. You can freeze all kinds of vegetables, except the artichokes, and maintained for 8 to 12 months as a rule, without losing properties. To freeze tomatoes, cut into quarters is better and freeze in bags, then use for stews, sauces and soups. Do not freeze lettuce and other salad leaves used since become flaccid and lose its flavor.
