I am a good eater. Not like too, but like everything, whenever healthy, of course. The truth is, I have to admit that most of the time health antepongo taste in eating, but there are so many dishes that combine both-pampering the palate and the body-that at least a few times at home I must to dispense with one of the two. Artichokes with ham is one of them. Furthermore, it is a very quick and easy recipe.
Artichokes have a strange effect on the taste buds that make us perceive the rest of the stuff with a hint of sweetness extra. I love to take a piece of bread in your mouth after a bite of artichokes. But also, from a nutritional standpoint, artichokes have many beneficial properties for the body: are diuretic, protect the liver and stomach, fight cholesterol and arteriosclerosis, etc..
The best, of course, would take the uncooked artichokes. I always I have cans of artichokes at home to eat them raw in salads when I'm pressed for time. But usually keep in freezer bags chopped artichokes as I used in this case to make these artichokes with ham. Take note of this "recipe wildcard" (those that are valid for all times and circumstances).

Ingredients for artichokes with ham (for two people):
1 bag frozen chopped artichokes about 350 gr.
50 gr. ham (preferably from selling and cut into cubes)
2 cloves of garlic
Olive oil
Pinch of salt
Development of the artichokes with ham:
1. Cut the garlic very finite, we put it in the pan with a little oil and fry. Then we can remove it or leave it, to taste.
2. Next add the diced ham in previously cut, better if Iberian. In delis often sell already cut.
3. After a minute or so to high heat, toss the artichokes, add a pinch of salt (the ham and gives enough flavor and adds enough salt to the dish) and sauté for about 15 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally to time to prevent burning. If necessary, use a lid to help artichokes are made better and are soft.
That's it! You see, in a matter of 20 minutes are made artichokes. I accompany the soil with a good red wine, so the sweetening effect of the artichokes.Enjoy your meal!
